North Central Texas Council of Governments created this video to educate citizens about the use of the new text to 9-1-1 technology available throughout the NCTCOG region.
Although the cellular devices have the capability to text to 9-1-1, the functionality is not available in every city because the Next Generation 9-1-1 equipment has not been purchased and installed in each city nationwide.
It is important to remember:
- Know your location
- Stay calm
- Follow instructions given by the dispatcher
- Do not disconnect the call until advised to do so
- ALWAYS.............
CALL if you CAN, TEXT if you can't.
